Hunterdon Hills Animal Hospital

The new Hunterdon Hills Animal Hospital is a 8600 square foot, state-of-the-art veterinary facility, housed in a modern "milk barn". The waiting room is a reclaimed 19th century Pennsylvanian barn. The new silo is the library, conference, and grieving room. Construction is slated to begin in 2010.

West Chelsea Veterinary Clinic

For this 7,000 square foot animal clinic that includes 6 exam rooms, an operating room, a dental area and an x-ray room, the doctors wanted a friendly yet practical facility. This state of the art clinic supports 8 doctors and their staff and provides a generous reception and waiting area for their patients and their owners. SLA designed the interior and the graphics as well as providing the technical documents for the infrastructure of the offices.

Bill Blass Singapore

We built a luxury store for Bill Blass in an exclusive mall in Singapore.  Asked to design with the same elegance and attention to detail for which Blass's couture is known, we used proportion, lighting, and layering to achieve a luxurious classicism.

Bill Blass Saks Fifth Avenue

We updated the Bill Blass Saks boutique using visual motifs from the designers own history. The floor pattern was borrowed from the patterns famously used in his own home. We worked closely with Bill Blass designer Michael Vollbracht to choose a color palette and lighting plan that would best showcase the collection. A customized hanging system was created for display.

201 E. 66th Street Lobby

For the public space in this Upper East Side apartment building, we found a clever solution for a difficult angled corridor.  Continuing the orthogonal flooring pattern at the entry, we offset the central element to follow the bend past a garden, then transitional elegantly back into a right-angle system at the back of the building.  We designed a steel-and-glass entry canopy to bring a jewel-like light to an ordinary sidewalk.

20 W. 22nd Street Lobby

ABS Partners Real Estate hired us to renovate this lobby in a Chelsea office building.  We used art glass and stone to achieve a clean, simple, modern look.

Blassport Offices and Showroom

We designed this renovation of Blassport's Manhattan offices around select elements from the existing space kept as an architectural legacy to founder Bill Blass. We updated the look of the offices and showroom while allowing for discreet space and maximum flexibility. Video displays were incorporated into the waiting area and sandblasted glass panels were backlit for display of the corporate logo. We designed sliding glass walls to allow the showroom to extend into the elegant waiting area for corporate events and parties.

219 E. 67th Street

We transformed this building, formerly a Christie's warehouse, into high-end loft apartments. We designed a soaring lobby with lighting in the floor and a wood ceiling that arcs down to become a bench.  Extensive security elements at the concierge's desk increase the residents' sense of safety and comfort.

We designed a grand boulevard flanked by showrooms as the central element of a 20,000-square-foot Manhattan buildout for Esmark.  The project also included offices and design rooms.  The strength of the geometry and the precision of execution we demanded resulted in an extremely successful project.

Mazur, Carp & Rubin

We developed an architectural program based on the needs of this mid-sized law firm and assisted them in identifying a new office site. With careful attention to time and budget, we then oversaw the design and construction of the site. An elegant simplification of space and detail-work, as well as the use of lighter materials and colors, achieves a contemporary look while maintaining the feel of a traditional law office.

Cranston Fabrics

Through complex geometric thinking we found an original, successful architectural solution for Cranston Fabrics.  This century-old textile manufacturer had commissioned us to design offices and showrooms for a new Manhattan location.

To design the first New York showroom for the high-end fashion house, we worked closely with Escada co-founder Margaretha Ley to create a design reflecting the luxury and elegance of the Escada collections as well as the refined sensibilities of the clientele.

We turned 30,000 square feet of raw space into offices, a showroom, and a factory/distribution center for Dalow, a major manufacturer and distributor of gold jewelry. We designed the showrooms and conference areas with a high level of finish, while the offices were spare and comfortable.

Radiant City

An upscale coffee shop/restaurant on the Upper West Side. A distinctive feature of the design was the tile floor, which appears to unfold like a carpet and continues up the wall. A prism light element was mounted in the joint between the ceiling and wall.

Roberto Coin Penthouse

SLA has helped Roberto Coin, a high-end jeweler, with a series of office expansions driven by their enormous success.  This project demanded a sophisticated and elegant space for corporate offices, including a roof garden.  We consulted on furniture and interiors as well as designing some distribution space.

Americus Dental Lab

The new location for Restoradent accomodates a teaching facility, dental lab, and dentistry products manufacturing facility. The spaces were designed to be hygienic, comfortable, and efficient. The entryway is clean and modern while the excellent layout of the production facility, located towards the back end of the site, helps to increase productivity. The installation of a lecture hall and an operatory allows for frequent educational demonstrations.

Rebecca Danenberg

Proposal for the fashion designers flagship store in Noho. The egg-like changing pods, where the shoppers transformation takes place, are open on top to accommodate individual lighting fixtures. A large movable wall separating administrative space from retail space opens up for events and fashion shows and a cantilevered stair leads to a DJ booth.
