Sandberg & Sikorski
One of the last jewelry manufacturers still in Manhattan, Sandberg & Sikorski took over a space we had already designed for American Gemsmith and asked us to do a renovation. The offices were expanded from one floor to two. We used a glass and metal storefront system to give the spaces an open and interconnected feel. The high visibility of the space also reduces risk of damage or theft.
Jacmel New York
We took on fast-track design and construction management responsibilities on this 60,000-square-foot project for a major jewelry manufacturer. We created a complex and efficient factory with attractive common spaces for staff in just six months. An additional 40,000 square feet of factory space was added after initial construction.
Responding to changes in industry and world trading patterns, this large company moved some production offshore to lower its costs. We designed this 40,000-square-foot factory in the Dominican Republic, adhering to the same principles of safety and efficient design used in the U.S.
Samuel Aaron International
The jewelry maker Samuel Aaron, a repeat client, hired us to design a 50,000-square-foot manufacturing and distribution center in Long Island City. Our design ensured that work processes would flow smoothly and quickly, while providing adequate security through physical transparency and technical means. We designed and oversaw the successful installation of a considerable amount of custom millwork.
We were commissioned to design a space for offices, a distribution center, and a repair shop for a jewelry manufacturer and distributor. The gently curved hallway and use of borrowed light unites the space while complementing efficient workspaces.
